Kirindy Forest Reserve

Kirindy Forest Reserve is located about 60 km north of Morondava on the way to the Tsingy. Even if you are not completing the grueling road to the Tsingy, its worth adding Kirindy to your holiday for the likely chance of seeing the fossa, Madagascar’s largest predator. The park is also home to eight species of lemur, the giant jumping rat, the narrow-striped mongoose and plenty of reptiles and amphibians. If visiting for the day, you can combine the trip with a visit to the alley of the boabab and the ‘lovers’ boabab with a stop at Kirindy lodge for nice lunch and refreshing dip.
